Visit to the Knot Garden and a walk in the park at Buckden Towers PE19 5TA
We shall first visit the walled garden where work started in 1992 to replicate a typical enclosed Knot Garden of the Tudor Period. It is dedicated to Katherine of Aragon who was confined here by her husband in 1533-4. Neil Crossman will then lead a walk in the park to look at its trees. There is an ancient plane tree said to have been planted in the 1600s and is one of the oldest in the country.
Meet at the entrance to the Knot Garden at 6:30 pm.
