Walk at Upwood Meadows
“Ancient grazing meadows with wildflowers galore.”
Neil Crossman has again agreed to lead a walk through this National Nature Reserve. We should be able to see green-winged orchids, saw-wort and dropwort among many others. The surrounding mature hedgerows and veteran trees provide nesting habitats for many birds, including turtle dove, blackcap and whitethroat.
Access to the meadows is from Meadow Lane PE26 2QL. Grid Ref: TL 251 82
There is some parking near the entrance, otherwise park in the village about 500m away.
Meet at entrance at 6:30 pm.
