An illustrated talk by Dr Andrew Ward.
Some of the most outstanding plants we can grow in our gardens are happy in shade. This talk shows the harbingers of spring with Erythroniums, orchids, Meconopsis and sinister Arisaemas while showing that autumn can also have plenty of colour in the shady garden.
Andrew trained as a plant breeder and started Norwell Nurseries and Gardens with his wife, Helen, 29 years ago. The garden holds over 2,500 different varieties of plants and has featured in many magazines. Andrew appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World in 2023 showing his National Collection of Astrantias. The garden also holds the National Collection of hardy chrysanthemums.
Membership of the club is £25 per year, payable in March. There will be no extra charges at any meeting/event except where indicated for refreshments.
Visitors are welcome at any meeting/event at a cost of £4 per session.
