Your use of the stilton.org website indicates your consent to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. Any changes to the policy will be posted on this page.
Use of cookies
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is downloaded on to your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are used by virtually all websites and can do a number of things, for example:
- remembering your preferences
- creating your shopping basket on an e-commerce site such as Amazon
- counting the number of site visits, which pages are viewed, etc (‘Web Analytics’).
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent certain site functions working. To find out more about Internet browser cookies; what they are and how to manage them, visit ico.gov.uk for more information.
Collection of data
This website does not collect or store any personal information, except where you might fill in a contact or booking form. Such form data is transferred via email to the webmaster and/or appropriate authorised individuals responsible for handling the submitted requests. Data supplied on any form is used purely to communicate with the person who initiated the enquiry. It will never be sold or passed to third parties or used for marketing purposes without further consent.
Analytical data
We use Google Analytics to provide summary data about site usage. This data shows us how the site is used, which content people are most interested in, which devices and web browsers they use, and so on. This helps us to tailor the website content and presentation to best serve our visitors’ needs.
This data is presented as statistics; no individual can be identified, nor can data be analysed to create profiles of individuals.
Google Analytics uses three cookies to track which pages are accessed. If you wish, you can download a browser add-on from Google which will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about the website pages you visit.
Links to external websites
Our website contains links to external websites. Such links are provided for your convenience only. No personal information is passed to those websites if you follow a link. We will never knowingly add links which are unsafe or malicious. We accept no responsibility for other sites or their content. You should always check the cookies and privacy policies of external sites if you have any concerns.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content (for example, YouTube videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Use of photographs
We are keen to show the children of our village enjoying the various social and cultural activities that are staged here. However, we are acutely aware of the risks, albeit very small, that can be associated with placing images of children on the internet.
If you would prefer that images of your child or children should not be shown on this web site, please tell us by using the Contact Form, giving the names of the children and your address. This will of course be treated in the strictest confidence.
