'Time Team' archaeological dig near Stilton, June 2006 ("A port and Stilton")

The discovery of a uniquely well-preserved Roman cheese press in a field near Stilton by Rick Landy, a local potter who makes fine cheese dishes and happens to be a keen archaeologist, was too good a story for Channel Four's Time Team to ignore. Full details can be found in August's SCAN; the pictures below were taken by Rick Landy and Paul Biggins; the programme was broadcast on February 18th 2007 on Channel 4, and again on February 25th 2007 on More4, under the title "A port and Stilton".
