SCAN - Stilton Community Association Newsletter - 2009 Archive

SCAN is the Stilton Community Association Newsletter, a packed publication of news, views, activities and advertisements, assembled and edited by a small team and delivered free to every household in Stilton, Denton and Caldecote every month (around 1100 copies reaching around 2500 people). Read about the whole process in the January 2005 edition.

SCAN editions are provided in pdf format, for which you need a viewer such as Adobe Reader. If you don't have a viewer already installed on your PC, you can download one from the Adobe website.

Cooper Thornhill was an extraordinary individual who founded the Stilton cheese industry and whose high reputation lives on 2 1/2 centuries later.
This month were commemorate him with a re-dedication of his memorial in St Mary's churchyard. Read Rick Landy's description of Cooper's life on p8, and com ealong to the churchyard on March 1st.
